Tilmicosin belongs to bacteriostatic macrolides. It is ideal for the mycoplasma infection. It binds to the 50s ribosomal subunit and stops the transfer of amino acyl tRNA. It gives maximum results against mycoplasma when given as 20 mg/kg body weight or 75 mg/liter water for 3 days and repeat it at 19th day.
